I'm going to moderating comments since I got spammed big time. I don't think I caught all of the "workathome" schemes but I got most of them.
Sigh.
It's sad that it has to come to this, but those of you who leave legitimate comments unfortunately have to suffer the consequences of those who think it's perfectly acceptable to spam someone's personal blog.
Not in a good mood today anyway and this just makes me want to spew.

Nothing new under the sun
Getting a new hard drive didn't solve the problem. So now we await a new motherboard and hope that will solve the situation.
I'm not a huge fan of Linux but I guess I will adjust to it.
Hang in there. Someday I'll have a computer that is reliable.

Where to begin?
Catching up is hard to do...or is that making up is hard to do?
My older son just moved back to the midwest after living in California for several years. Way too expensive and way too lonely. My daughter is out there, too, but they rarely saw each other, having different lifestyles. Plus, his kids are in Indiana and he was missing them, wanting to have a life with them before it was too late. He's having a hard time with the middle one. She's not the forgiving type, apparently, but he believes it's worth the effort.
My knitting has not been in the forefront lately. I couldn't find the project I wanted to work on with the yarn I've got lying about. I decided on a sweater for little Timmy at church. He's a couple of months old so I'm making it a one year size. I had some Baby Ull I didn't know what to do with but thought I didn't have enough for a sweater but lo and behold! I do. It will be close but I think I can do it.
Still working on a purse. I just can't find anything out there I like so I'm knitting one. It's a modification on Vicki Square's messenger bag. You can find it on Knitty Gritty. I haven't figured out Linux well enough to load up another browser so I can share a link yet. Soon, I hope.
And no pictures for a while. Tom is taking the camera with him to Kentucky next week when he goes to visit his brother.
Blessed relief. I can't begin to tell you how stressful it is having to watch everything that comes out of your mouth and everything you do for fear of pissing off the mighty lord and master.
It's cold today. I went downstairs and shut the basement windows Tom opened last night. Brrrr. I know the basement stinks from when we had Pearl, my beautiful cat who now rests in a cardboard coffin atop the hill in our backyard. But when I have a moment to spare, I will resume cleaning the basement out so I can scrub it down with bleach. In the meantime, I don't want to bundle up under blankets all day. I'd like to actually get some work done in the basement todaysneaking moving things out for our church's rummage sale. Tom has been known to look through the trash and pull stuff out he doesn't think needs to be thrown out.
I am determined to lose this weight. Again. My doctor, for some reason, will only refill my water pills one month at a time so I'm going to find some on the shelves and just lose the weight so I don't have to deal with her anymore. I've thought about changing doctors since she sends me off to specialists for just about everything, which means extra gas mileage and more copay. My rheumatologist can't figure out why my family doctor won't treat me for fibromyalgia and arthritis. She won't give me more than 2 pain pills a day and believe me, I use the three I get from the rheumie.
But the devil you know, and all that. I might end up with a worse doctor and it's not like you can shop around until you find the perfect fit. They charge you office visits for that and the insurance companies don't pay.
I really hate our health care system.
Well, off to put more clothes on since I'm starting to shiver a bit.

Let's try this again
Apparently the hard drive didn't survive the virus onslaught so we've been waiting for another one.
Microsoft, being completely stupid, refused to recognize its own installation disk so Zach installed Linux instead. This is a whole 'nother world for me, people.
I've managed to view blogs from time to time and read my mail occasionally but whatever browser I had up refused to stay up long enough to do much of anything. So far, this is working out marvelously.
More tomorrow on what's going on in my life and whether or not there is anyone left who is reading this blog.

Whoa!
We had a virus that resulted in losing everything on the computer, including all my pictures I kept intending to save to flash drive.
Procrastination...sucks.
I'll be back sometime this weekend to blog but I have a lot to do in restoring what I can to the computer, not to mention getting the kitchen ready for the new refrigerator. A monumental task, I must say.
Thanks to all who were concerned. I couldn't email anyone because of the virus. I didn't want to infect anyone else.
